EcoVadis, a global leader in sustainability intelligence, has introduced a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) questionnaire to help businesses of all sizes manage the growing challenges of supply chain disclosure. This innovative tool is part of EcoVadis’ trusted sustainability solutions, aimed at simplifying reporting processes and ensuring compliance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
With an estimated 50,000 companies required to comply with CSRD standards, the new EcoVadis CSRD questionnaire provides a seamless way to collect and analyze the mandatory supply chain data necessary for reporting. This includes both European companies and approximately 10,000 non-European businesses, such as U.S. companies operating in the EU.
Procurement and compliance teams face significant hurdles in gathering accurate sustainability data from suppliers, many of whom may be unfamiliar with CSRD requirements. EcoVadis’ solution directly addresses these challenges, allowing suppliers to contribute data easily through the free questionnaire, while enterprise users can integrate this information into a comprehensive, audit-ready report.
Aligned with ESRS Requirements: The questionnaire ensures all supply chain data aligns with European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
Free for Suppliers: Suppliers can provide their input without financial barriers, making engaging them in the reporting process easier.
Streamlined Reporting: Procurement teams can aggregate data from across the EcoVadis platform, including IQ Plus, Ratings, and Academy, to generate a CSRD report.
Audit-Ready Outputs: The CSRD report simplifies compliance by providing exports covering all material ESRS topics.
Pierre-Francois Thaler, co-founder and co-CEO at EcoVadis, explained,
“The CSRD questionnaire is a right-fit regulatory tool for businesses at any stage of their sustainability journey. It helps them navigate complex disclosure requirements with confidence, ensuring compliance while reducing risks.”
Failure to comply with CSRD disclosure rules can result in reputational, financial, and competitive disadvantages. Companies are required to report on critical sustainability factors such as greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, biodiversity, workforce diversity, and labor standards. Tools like the EcoVadis CSRD questionnaire aim to reduce the complexity of managing supply chain sustainability data, making compliance more accessible even for businesses with limited resources.
Kinly’s Global Corporate Social Responsibility Lead, Rhea Horlock, shared their experience, emphasizing the value of such tools in supporting their compliance efforts:
“Working with EcoVadis has put us in a good position to cover our CSRD supply chain topics. Our suppliers know they can rely on us for guidance.”
